Full description
A 10.5cm tall hand thrown stoneware pottery mug with two colourful rabbits on the outside. The inside is lined with a shiny lilac glaze, with the outside in soft speckled yellow.
The decoration on this mug was inspired by Annette's drawings for adult colouring books. The picture was drawn by Annette and from this drawing two adhesive stencils were made. The stencils were eased into place onto the curve of the pot and three coats of glaze painted into the outlines. The inside of the mug was given a shiny glaze to make it easy to clean, with the outside given a speckled pastel glaze to contrast with the image. Once the glaze was dry the stencil was removed, so when kiln-fired the image is left outlined in the colour of the vitrified clay.
