Full description
This necklace is made using some special beads made of River Amber. These ones have come from Africa and are bits of tree sap that have been polished in a river, they are basically very young pieces of amber but because they are not old enough they are called copal. They are hard but not as hard as true amber and you can feel in their weight they are not as heavy as a gemstone. Never the less I thought they were gorgeous beads that resemble the sea glass I so love and use frequently in my work. They hang from an long handknitted hemp rope, and have been individually knotted onto the rope and garnished with a bit of sparkly gold bling thread! The rope is made from organic hemp so its very strong and soft to wear, not like the itchy cheap varieties. A special piece that would make a lovely beach gift for someone who loves the seaside.
A complete one off piece of beach inspired jewellery.
