A little wren lives outside our back door, in the wood shed. She's always busy, and quite feisty for such a small creature.
Wrens aren't the most colourful of our garden inhabitants, but they make up for that with activity and song. Lovely!

Hand stitched picture of a little wren singing her heart out!
Wrens are one of my favourite garden inhabitants, and they have a loud voice.
This hand embroidered picture was built up with strands of thread using stitches of various lengths and colours. I call the method "drawing with threads", it is time consuming, but allows for a lot of detail. The branch is formed from a satin ribbon.
The stitched piece is protected behind glass in an oak frame, ready to hang. It is nearly 3.5 x 3.5 cms and the whole item is about 10.5 x 10.5cms.
I photographed it in natural light without glass for clarity, but I'm sure you know that screens and monitors do vary.
It would make a lovely gift for a gardener or a nature lover...
