Thanks for stopping by! My shop will be taking a break for a bit as I'm heading to Canada! In the meantime, you can still purchase my work at my stockists in the UK - www.unearthedbylynn.com/where-to-buy

Inspired by my walks and adventures in the UK's countryside and along its seaside, and with a desire to reduce my footprint on the planet, I upcycle found pottery shards, sea glass and scoria glass, into keepsake jewellery to ground you in connection to its story.... to a person, a place, a memory. When you purchase Unearthed Jewellery, you also receive the story that has been uncovered....where your shard was unearthed, and more. I am registered with the Edinburgh Assay office and a Gold Member of the British Guild of Jewellery Designers. All Unearthed jewellery is signed with a .925 fineness mark and UBL makers mark.

Not the right size or colour? Have you unearthed your own shard? Please visit www.unearthedbylynn.com to ask about commissioning your own piece of Unearthed Jewellery.

Your Own Shard of History:
Inspired by walks along sunny white beaches on holiday, sea glass is often considered to be found treasure. The sea glass in these earrings, whilst a beautiful colour, was much larger and chunkier - not the stereotype of perfectly smooth sea glass. I created this design so in order to find a use for this chunky, but beautifully coloured glass, so that it can enjoy a new life. In making these earrings, I intend to ground you in connection.... to a person, a place or a memory of your time by the ocean. When you purchase a piece of Unearthed Jewellery, you also receive the provenance that has been uncovered....where it was unearthed, what it was from, and more.

Not the right size or colour? Have your own shard? Please visit www.unearthedbylynn.com to ask about commissioning your own piece of Unearthed Jewellery.

Full description

Connecting you to the land and stories from where it came, the sea glass in these earrings was unearthed from the beach in Cadiz, Spain. Most kelly green sea glass was produced after the second half of the 20th century for popular soda and beer bottles such as 7Up, Mountain Dew, Sprite, and Heineken. The main reason for the green colour is that the natural ingredients used in making glass - sand, soda ash, and lime - generally contained iron impurities in the sand. Iron added to the glass-making process, produces a green colour. So, depending on the amount of iron naturally found in the sand being used, the depth of green in the bottle glass was either light or dark. You can usually determine how old your glass is by the thickness and any markings or bubbles. They measure 12mm across.

Backing:

Your sea glass shards are set into hammered fine silver, so you don't have to worry about the silver tarnishing below over time. Sterling Silver earring wires ensure you shouldn't have to worry about any metal allergies or green earlobes.

These are the perfect gift for someone who wants to express their unique style, love of the beach and/or travel to sunny places. It would also make a great 3rd (glass) or 11th (jewellery) or 25th (silver) Anniversary Gift.

They will arrive gift-ready in a cotton pouch, along with their story, inside a tissue-lined box made from recycled materials.
