This beautiful Butterfly Heart pendant has been lovingly handcrafted by me in my little studio in the very beautiful North Wales. APPROX 10 CM

The Butterfly has always been associated with freedom, new beginnings, re birth, change, a new lease on life and of course spirituality.
I use the highest quality raw Ming porcelain and roll, cut, shape, sand, dry it out, then it goes in to my little kiln for 9 hours to 'bisc' fire it. When cooled i sand again , hand paint and fire again in my kiln on a much higher temperature for 12 hours. Once cooled i have to then add a tiny amount of glaze to where i want to later add real 22 ct gold lustre, it is then fired for a third time. once cooled again I very carefully hand paint on the gold and you guessed it, it is fired for the fourth and last time.
All these firings ensure the designs are permanent and the gold too, also it makes the pendant very strong, so it may look ephemeral but if you take good care of it it will last a lifetime. I CAN ALSO DO COMMISSIONS IN BULK FOR WEDDINGS ETC.

Everybody loves Butterflies, especially me. They are a great symbol of rebirth, freedom, spirituality, love, new beginning's ( so great wedding jewelry). I always love making butterflies for these reasons, and with spring coming and hopefully summer too, to wear a butterfly is very seasonal. Makes great wedding jewelry if not for the bride herself then at least for the guests.
