Encaustic painting is an ancient art form that uses a mix of beeswax and damar resin to create a medium for painting, which is then heated to fuse the different layers. I love that you can combine it with lots of other art mediums and techniques to create original pieces of art. It feels like the possibilities are endless.

I created this painting using encaustic medium, oil sticks and pan pastels on a wood panel. It has a number of layers which blend together a variety of colours and images, which gives an ethereal feel to this painting. Due to the nature of encaustic art the piece also has an added textural quality to it. This artwork comes with a hanging loop attached so it is ready to display.
Dimensions; 15cm x15cm
As with all art avoid displaying in direct sunlight.
The piece can be lightly buffed with a lint free cloth to maintain a light sheen, or to remove any slight cloudiness that might develop as the piece cures.
