Full description
A hand thrown stoneware pottery mug with an image of a Staffordshire Bull Terrier (SBT) on each side. This mug is 11cm tall and decorated with soft, satin glazes.
This mug was thrown by Annette on a pottery wheel with decoration inspired by her drawings for adult colouring books. From this drawing two adhesive stencils were made, one for each side of the mug. The stencils were eased into place onto the curve of the pot and three coats of glaze painted carefully into the outlines. The mug was given a light blue satin glaze painted inside and on the outside around the images. Once the glaze was dry the stencil was removed to leave an unglazed outline, which when kiln-fired leaves the image outlined in the colour of the vitrified clay.
