Illustrated room map of the entire magical labyrinth of Talliston house & gardens, capturing each location in an A4 (21cm x 29.7cm / 8.3” x 11.7”) poster, beautifully illustrating the rectory gardens and each of the times and places within. Every map is packed with hand-drawn objects and details, captured by artist and illustrator, Jon Harris, on 150gsm Accent Antique Silk paper stock. Sent in a hardbacked envelope.

To create a whimsical and artistic map of the house and gardens, including all its locations, times, rooms within rooms, and a few of the strange and interesting objects that fill its nooks and corners.

In contrast to our architectural plans, we wanted to capture more of the magical whimsy of the house and gardens and Jon Harris seemed the perfect choice for this endeavour. After marveling at a similar map in Woodchester Mansion, Jon was given free reign to be inspired by the project and bring his own unique artwork style into the final map.

© Jon Harris. Jon Harris is an artist, illustrator, and calligrapher, who has a particular interest in architecture and topography. He is particularly known for his illustrated, calligraphic, maps. A latecomer to Dunmow, Jon says he paints and draws as a witness to places that matter; so for an entire year, he turned his innocent eye on the treasures of Talliston. This map is the result.
