My whippet, Hettie, can get a bit shivery at night & on her walks, so I started knitting her jumpers as soon as she arrived. The problem was that I couldn't find any patterns for a skinny little miss with such a long neck, so I've designed my own.

She's now a seasoned jumper wearer & attracts lots of attention when we are out running in the local meadows in the colder months. This one has been designed especially for Christmas & I've knitted two - one for Hettie & one for another whippet who wants to join in the Christmas jumper craze.

Proceeds from all these whippet jumpers will be donated to my local Greyhound Rescue charity.

This is a custom-made item and cannot be returned unless faulty.

Full description

A lovely cosy (and a wee bit silly) Christmas Pudding jumper, with holly & berry garnish. knitted to my own design, especially for a slim dog.

This jumper is knitted in soft chunky acrylic yarn, washable by hand or gentle 30 degree wash.

The jumper is made for a fully grown whippet with an approximately 23-24 inch chest . It is knitted in 'tank' style, without sleeves, so that the whippet can run unencumbered, and it fits snugly around the end of the waist so that it doesn't flap about.

If your whippet isn't used to wearing jumpers, it is best to 'feed' the legs & nose through first while the dog is lying down, so that the legs don't get trapped inside bent!! Hettie is well used to the jumper 'feed' now!

If you like this jumper but feel your whippet is not ready to be a pudding, I can knit both chunky & Double Knit jumpers to order (with about a week to knit a fairly plain one please). Please contact me through the folksy site with details of what you might like & neck, chest & waist measurements.
