This young red deer stag lived close to the Ardnamurchan Lighthouse, and could often be seen on the rocky hillside there. He was the inspiration for a minor character in my children's book "The Magical Midwinter Star", and I used photographs I had taken of him by the lighthouse as reference. If you look closely you will also see a tiny shrew on the ground beneath the stag - he is another character in the same story.
The main hill in the background is Beinn an Lethaid, Ardnamurchan, and the snowy landscape was painted from a series of photographs of this scene in mid winter.
The original paintings from which this bag is reproduced were created with Winsor and Newton professional watercolour paints and watercolour sticks, and Faber-Castell Albrecht Durer watercolour pencils on Fabriano Artistico HP watercolour paper.

Full description
Printed tote bag, with the same image on both sides, made from a strong woven polyester fabric, fully lined with plain black polyester, and with very strong black cotton webbing straps.
A matching Christmas card is also available.
Bag size approx. 12 1/2" (310mm) square, with a bottom of width approx. 2 1/2" (60mm) across, and 1" (25mm) wide straps hanging approx. 12 1/2" (310mm) down from the shoulder.
This printed bag features a young red deer stag and a tiny shrew, in a genuine Scottish Highland landscape, adapted from an illustration for my children's book "The Magical Midwinter Star" in the Adventures of Algy series.
