Full description
This is an original, hand cut, spoon rubbed woodcut print showing a fish. Each copy is a handmade original. Limited Edition of 20.
The technique used here is that of a reduction cut. For this the block is printed in several stages and after each stage more of the block is cut away. This technique is also called a suicide print, as the block is destroyed in the process, making little room for mistakes.
It is printed with traditional, oil based relief ink.
The print is sold unmatted and will come to you in a plastic sleeve taped to a piece of cardboard to avoid scuffs. If you want the print packed without plastic, please get in contact before purchase.
The reason for selling it unmatted is, that it works best if you get yourself a matte that fits your chosen frame. But for an additional fee I could also cut a mat for you like you see in some of the pictures. Please get into contact before purchase if that's what you want.
