I take the inspiration for my mushroom and toadstool range from nature, the variety of forms and colours of mushrooms and toadstools give me plenty of ideas. I love to use colours that are bright and vibrant to make the mushrooms stand out in the garden setting.

This unusual, colourful mushroom would be a real talking point and give the "wow" factor to the flower beds or pots in your garden or would make a unique gift; it would be a really great gift for someone moving into a new home with a garden, or for a couple celebrating their 20th anniversary, which traditionally is marked by giving china or pottery.
The mushroom is hand-made by me in Wales. It is made from strong stoneware clay, glazed and kiln fired to a high temperature, which means that the mushroom is completely weather-proof, come rain or shine, so can be left out in the garden all year round.
The mushroom cap measures 15cm across and the stalk is 30cm long; the cap is decorated with shiny, deep blue colour and white spots; the stalk is glazed in a matt cream colour with brown speckling. The underside of the cap is modelled to show the black gills just like a real toadstool.
