Made with 100% British wool this cushion cover is adorned with an embroidered floral design based on the heads of nigella flowers. The wool used for the main cover comes from the Outer Hebrides (and is then dyed on the Isle of Harris) while the aran wool for the embroidery comes from the New Lanark mills. There is a zip at the bottom of the cover that has been inserted by hand.
This cushion took approximately 24 hours to make (spread out over several weeks) and used around 300gsm of yarn.

This cushion is individual and has a handmade, unique, comfortable quality about it and as such imperfections may occur. That is the beauty of buying handmade where an item has been crafted with love and care.
Any questions, please contact me and I will respond as soon as I can.
I was inspired to create this cushion through the black ink sketches of flowers in our back garden that I draw. I spend a lot of time with plants either looking after the garden or drawing and cannot fail to be inspired by all the different shapes and lines from the natural world.
I also adore working with different textures in my designs and love the feel that this simple variation on a moss stitch pattern creates. I enjoy working with natural fibres and try and incorporate this as much as I can within my work.
