These small studs feature an authentic Art Deco fan, because they have been cast from a small antique button from the 1920's or 30's from my vintage button collection. The fan or sunrise symbol is an iconic design of the Art Deco period, and these buttons may well have have been used as a discrete fastening for a flapper dress or even to suspend silk stockings. These particular buttons are ideal for stud earrings as they are only 10 mm wide to make a dainty pair of studs. As the design is quite subtle, they are perfect for making a vintage statement for every day. The surface of the buttons themselves has been cast in Recycled fine silver and then soldered to a sterling silver backing for strength. They have then been lightly antiqued, to bring out the fine details. These stud earrings are fastened using 925 sterling butterfly backs for security. The final image displays the studs next to a vintage lipstick case measuring 80 mm or 3" in length in order to give a sense of scale. They have been given full UK hallmarks, including the date letter and my initials by the London Assay Office.
My earrings are delightfully presented in a small gift box fastened with a bow ready to give as a gift if you choose.
