This unique, one-off free hand embroidery features a little goldcrest stitched onto an old peanut sack which was then stitched to olive green velvet.

Would look great in both contemporary or traditional interiors - the ideal gift for any bird-lover.

My sewing chair in the dining room is next to a window which looks out over the front garden where our bird feeder is located. The constant chitter-chatter of garden birds always makes me smile. Goldcrests are so pretty I though I'd try my hand at free-stitching one and this is the result.

I love the difference between the rich olive velvet background and the coarse hessian sacking which this little bird was stitched onto.
