Like many other people, I love robins and their songs, and we are lucky to have robins living in our garden. There are few things so uplifting as hearing a robin sing, so when I created this illustration I tried to capture the explosion of joyfulness expressed by the singing robin and experienced by the listener. In the story in which this illustration features - "The Tree with a Golden Heart" - the robin is first seen (and heard) perching on a low branch over a woodland waterfall which splashes down into a small pool. It was this real local scene I had in mind when I painted the background to this image.
The original illustration which is reproduced on this bag was created with water soluble Indian Ink and Faber-Castell Albrecht Durer watercolour pencils on Fabriano Artistico HP watercolour paper.

Printed tote bag, with the same image on both sides, made from a strong woven polyester fabric, fully lined with plain black polyester, and with very strong black cotton webbing straps.

Size approx. 12 1/2" (310mm) square, with a bottom of width approx. 2 1/2" (60mm) across, and 1" (25mm) wide straps hanging approx. 12 1/2" (310mm) down from the shoulder.
This joyful bag features an illustration of a robin singing happily at the top of his voice, and will brighten any day :-) The illustration was originally created for my children's book "The Tree with a Golden Heart" in the Adventures of Algy series.
This image is also available as a giclée print, mounted or framed, and as a square greetings card with text quotation "It's a gorgeous day for singing, for singing a happy song...".
