Harvest Mouse is a textile appliqué artwork with free motion embroidery created by textile artist Heidi Meier.
I create each artwork after drawing out a sketch and then cutting the base or background fabrics to create a collage appliqué style picture. The detail of the artwork is created using free motion embroidery, where I use a sewing machine to draw thread by hand and create naturalistic effects. No computer wizardry is involved, it is al done by me using eye and hand.
My Harvest Mouse took shape after I wanted to create a cornfield and work lots of ears of corn together, and is part of a planned series featuring mice. The poppies were a natural accompaniment and add a pop of colour to the scene.
Mounted with a cream conservation mount and framed in a quality white frame, which sets off the colours of this artwork beautifully.
Measurements: overall size 17 inches square (430mm square). Embroidery aperture is 11 inches square (280mm square).
Will be posted recorded delivery Royal Mail or you are welcome to collect it from my studio.
