Interesting fact! The Heads of the fine April Bearded Wheat used to make this charming little bread basket would have been used to make bread. So no waste!
After making Bee Skeps or, traditional straw hives from the coiled straw ( lippi work) for years I was asked to amke a number of the traditional oval baskets. Finally here now as a listing. Visit Ecolistic Artworks shop to see the traditional Straw Bee Hive or, Skeps.

Full description
The oval straw basket is a made using a traditional process called Lippi Work. It is a process that has been used for centuries and is used to create traditional bee hives know as Bee Skeps. Please see Ecolistic Artworks bee hive listings for examples.
The basket priced in this listing is approx 33 cms or 13 inches. However this lovely little basket design is Made to Order and can be made in a variety of sizes.
Also, it can be customized to order. Please feel free to message me further information for prices etc.
