Small giclée print made in my own studio with Epson lightfast pigment inks on Epson Archival Matte paper, in an acid-free, bevel cut, bright white mount with a strong white backing board.
It is presented in a natural pine frame with real glass. This has a hardboard back and prop, but is also provided with a strong brass hanging wire, ready to hang on the wall.
Signed on the mount back and on the backing board.
The image window size is approximately 6 3/4" x 4 3/4" (165mm x 114mm) and the overall size of the frame is 11 3/4" x 9 3/4" (300mm x 247mm).
This print is reproduced by me from a scan of an original watercolour painting created in early summer 2018, titled "A Blue Day in May - View to the Small Isles from Ardnamurchan Lighthouse".
This image is also available in other sizes, with or without a frame, and as a greetings card.
Reproduced from an original watercolour painting by Jenny Chapman, © 2018.
This image shows the wonderful view of the Small Isles - the Inner Hebridean islands of Rum, Eigg and Muck - across the Sea of the Hebrides from the rocks at Ardnamurchan lighthouse, the most westerly point on the British mainland. Out at the lighthouse in late May, everything was blue except for the clouds: blue sky, blue sea and blue islands. The weather was fine but rather hazy, and at times white or even grey clouds blocked the sun, but the scene remained strikingly blue though the hues shifted as the clouds passed by. As the wind was too cold to remain on the rocks long enough to sketch, I took a set of photos to work from and started work on this image that same evening.
The original painting was created with Winsor and Newton Professional Watercolours on Arches Aquarelle NOT 140lb (300gsm) paper, in a very limited colour palette. You can read more about it on my artwork blog (click the Blog link at the bottom of the page).
