Full description
Bast Cat Mandala - 20cm (8") round plus yarn hanging loop, edging and danglers with handmade, painted paper beads - (Overall length approx 70cm). I printed the cat design onto fabric with lino then painted it with fabric paints,outlined it in gold, then stitched in place. The background is an olive green silk lining fabric (stiffened on the back to hold it's shape). The background depicts a pyramid made of sandwiched fabric scraps and painted bondaweb in organza, The moon-rise and setting sun detail is embossed metal (softened drinks can). The circular mid backgrounds are various painted fabrics. Everything is secured in place with machine stitching. The mixed yarns are added to tone or compliment the finished piece
