I AM IN THE PROCESS OF MOVING ITEMS FROM THIS SHOP TO MY OTHER FOLKSY SHOP 'Lynwoodcrafts' where they will be waiting for you to view them! All my items now feature upcycled, recycled, repurposed or gifted materials and there is no longer any distinction between the two shops!
I enjoyed hand-painting samples, from my recycled linen collection, using some lovely water-based inks. Vintage lace, and silk flowers, also painted in the same palette of colours, add a lovely texture.
You have 14 days, from receipt, to notify the seller if you wish to cancel your order or exchange an item.

A very pretty hanging featuring hand-painted and hand-dyed scraps of vintage linens and lace, combined with hand embroidery and hand-painted silk flowers .
Portions of napkins, doilies, traycloths and tablecloths have been hand painted in inks. A portion of painted lace, applied to a panel of hand-dyed felt, was embellished with hand painted silk flowers and hand embroidery, and applied to the centre of the hanging. Portions of coordinating lace, with more painted flowers and hand embroidery are arranged on each side. A fragment of hand-dyed, vintage, hand crocheted lace trims the bottom edge of the hanging.
This is one of a series of hangings aimed at re-purposing vintage needlework which has been a little to much used and loved to continue in its original purpose. This hanging represents many hours of work (both my own and the needlewomen in the history of the linens) - it is not possible to represent this in the price. I do not, therefore, envisage being able to list many of these in my shops. Although the theme may be repeated, each of the hangings which I am able to offer for sale will be unique in composition, due largely to the unique nature of the vintage linens used. I hope you like this one!
This turquoise hanging loop is stitched from button-hole stitch in cotton thread.
