Full description
A pretty trinket box, featuring flowers and butterflies, hand-stitched, using recycled materials.
Flowers and butterflies, cut from recycled fabrics, were appliqued onto an aqua, leaf patterned fabric. The outside of a cardboard tube, from a roll of parcel tape, was covered in wadding and then the inside and outside of the tube was covered in the same aqua fabric, hand-stitched in place. The bottom of the trinket box is formed from a circle of wadding, covered on the base by the aqua fabric, and on the inside by a blue on white patterned fabric. This gives a soft base to the box to cushion any delicate items which may be placed inside. The lid of the box is formed in the same way, with the appliqued and embroidered design being placed on the top.
The box closes by passing a 'string' of coordinating beads through a button-hole stitch white cotton loop on the body of the box.
