This bright and colourful hoop has been hand embroidered using my own design onto a background of crisp white cotton. The design incorporates seven small mirrors which have been individually and securely stitched in place (a technique known as shisha embroidery). When hung or propped in the right place, these mirrors catch the light beautifully. This adds a special dimension to the embroidered piece.
I have used quality DMC and Anchor threads throughout and the work has been 'laced' around the inner part of the hoop. This entails the fabric being stretched around the hoop and then stitched securely to keep it taut (I don't use glue on my hoops). The back of the hoop has been neatened with a piece of red wool felt.
The hoop measures 5 inches across and would make a lovely and unique wall hanging. It would look equally at home propped up on a shelf!
