When I told friends I was making small leather goods I was asked if I made dog collars. I didn't, so I thought I'd better so something about it! My dog-owning next-door neighbour advised on the details, such as making sure there were no rough edges to catch on hair and irritate the dog, and using stitching rather than rivets to ensure strength and a long life for the collar. I sourced some buckles, and started first with nickel-plated buckles, but I kept getting asked for brass! So here we are with brass dog collars :)
This is a custom-made item and cannot be returned unless faulty.
Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.
This leather dog collar is made to order from quality veg-tanned leather which is soft and supple. The collar is hand-stitched using traditional saddle-stitching techniques to ensure a strong collar with no weak points. The edges have been carefully bevelled and burnished, and the stitched over end has been carefully shaped and stitched to prevent hair from catching.
The collar comes with a brass buckle and D ring, and is 1" wide. Collars are made to order so you can choose the correct length. When ordering please let me know the circumference of your dog's neck. This can be measured using a soft tape measure, or by measuring your dog's existing collar. Measure from the most used hole, to the end of the leather where it goes round the buckle (or to the bar across the buckle where the pointy bit sticks up from if you have a double-bar buckle like the one shown in the photo).
I can do thinner collars, but not in brass (at the moment) - please message me if you are interested in one of these.
