Ammonite felt hanging.
I love the ammonite shape, it crops up again and again in my work. This one is done using a new material for me, felting. After meeting for coffee with a friend we went shopping and came home with felting needles and wool and here’s the result! I’ve used black felt, orange felting wool, brick red silk and lots of gloriously rich gold organzas all stitched down with black thread and a black ribbon to hang it by.
It would make a very personal gift for someone very special or for a specific celebration present, and would enhance and adorn any home.
It will hang from door handles, under pictures or on the wall. The ammonite measures 15 x 10.5cm. With the ribbon the length is 25cm.
Whilst I have done my best to photograph this piece, colours may vary due to monitor settings. Also my work is very shiny and consequently quite hard to capture!
