These sterling silver chandelier eardrops are inspired by the shadow of the earth passing across the moon, one perfect circle in front of another. They symbolize the cyclical nature of time and the constancy of the universe around us. I made the chandeliers from four perfect circles of silver wire of varying guages and soldered them together permanently. Next I made bails for the aqua blue faceted briolette chalcedony drops and suspended them from the eardrops. Chalcedony is a milky quarz gemstone, beloved by ancient peoples such as the Romans, Mesopotamians and Egyptians, and has a long history in jewellery making. They measure 12 mm in length and I think they resemble Mermaid's Tears! Finally, I attached them to my own hand forged sterling silver fish hook ear wires and the earrings were complete. They measure 45 mm or 2" in length from the top of the ear-wire and are shown with a vintage lipstick case measuring 80 mm or 3" in the last photo to give a sense of scale.

These earrings will arrive beautifully packaged in a gift box tied with a satin bow.
