Handmade dress in vintage cotton. White with blue printed flowers. This has a front buttoned fastening on the bodice. The lined bodice is seamed at the chest/above waist to attach to a full skirt. The dress is 18" (40 cms) top to bottom. 24" (62 cm) at the join to skirt and the unlined skirt flares to 42 " (108 cm) at the hem. All seams are enclosed see photo of inside showing lined bodice and unlined skirt. The neck is 6" across and the unlined cap sleeves are 4" round the arm holes. I think it would fit a 2 to 3 year old. There is a lined bucket style sun hat to match included in this sale.

I made this for my youngest grand daughter but she grew like a weed and was too big by the summer and never wore it. I used a pattern for 2/3 year old but judging by her growth perhaps I am a little old fashioned about sizes hence I have given as much detail of dimensions as possible. (And all my boys were tiny premature things so I didn't get to make dresses) I like the front fastening as you can tackle a wriggly person better from that angle. I think the pattern was US based and called a June Bug dress. I have made a matching sun hat.
