Hello and welcome x

The inspiration for the embroidery was an iron sculpture of a peacock I spotted on a building in Basel, Switzerland.

Full description

The main section of the bag is made from brown linen. It has a peacock called Basil hand appliquéd onto it on all four sides with embroidered and beaded details - the birds are in two colour ways. The drawstring section of the bag is made from two of my prints - Aztec and Thistle. The bag pulls up and closes with black ties, the ends of these ties are trimmed with squares of print. The lining is cut from a vintage silk scarf which gives the inside a feeling of luxury.

The main section of the bag is a 4inch(10cm) cube and the drawstring section is 4inch(10cm)high - so the full height of the bag is 8inch(20cm) when fully open.

The bag is suitable for a small portable project such as sock knitting - it also looks good on a dressing table or surface and could be used for make up etc.
