Im always influenced in my artwork by my love of my home city of Glasgow. Its modern cosmopolitan feel along with its its rich industrial heritage including my own memories as a young boy being taken on the paddle steamers as day-tripping from the Broomielaw quayside in the centre of Glasgow 'doon the watter' as they used to say, to the resorts on the firth of Clyde, Rothsay, Millport and Dunoon to name but a few. The Waverley is the last sea-going paddle steamer in the world and is still operating the old routes and still taking passengers on trips ' doon the watter ' throughout the summer .
