My father was a massive football fan ,,,being a Partick Thistle fan and because they were never in European football as a boy in the 1960's he also took me to big European games which involved both Rangers and Celtic who were at ther European best during that decade. As such i have a very open approach to whats good about football irrespective of the club so i find it easy to see the what the common threads are that appeals to all football fans and not just one set of fans of a particular club. I strive to capture the passions and emotions whether it be in a modern painting or nostalgic painting and the images rekindle memories of long lost but not forgotten relationships , memories of grandfathers, fathers,uncles brothers etc. . As an artist i think football fans and the emotion and passion that goes with being a football fan are an amazing subject matter and you are never short of artistic material.
