Full description
This pair of earrings features my painting of an otter. After building up several layers of white enamel on the copper oval, to provide a base on which to paint, I have painted the pictures, using tablets of finely ground enamel, soluble in water to produce a glaze over the white. When the picture was finished I fired it as I would any other enamel piece but taking particular care not to overfire and so burn out the thin layer of glaze that makes the picture. The work I do in this way I sign with my initials, FH. This signature may be seen at the top left of the two otter pictures that make up the earrings.
The ovals measure 18mm by 13mm. They are mounted on silver fish-hook wires.
Your earrings will be sent boxed. I use Royal Mail, first class, signed for, for delivery.
