Little jewellery,trinket or ring box in wood and pewter with a moongazing hare design and rose quartz cabochon.
This little pewter trinket box with a moon-gazing hare design would make a lovely gift for any occasion.
This tiny wooden box has been transformed with a lid of lead-free modern pewter, set with a genuine rose quartz cabochon. The mythical hare of pagan legend gazes up enraptured at the moon.
The scene has been raised by hand in sheet pewter using the repousse method, then the metal has been mounted on the wooden base, patinated and polished to a deep shine.
The box measures 30mm high and 40mm across. The wood had been sealed with a coat of clear varnish. The lid is loose fitting.
