Item details

This is an original black and white linocut print inspired by my surroundings in Norfolk. It is from an edition of 50 and is signed at the bottom of the print. The measurements of the print are 23cm x 24.5 cm and the paper is 29.5cm x 35 cm. This is a unique design, fine and detailed and is provided unmounted and unframed. The design is cut into the surface of a block of lino and it is then proofed several times before it has ink rolled onto the surface of the lino and is placed in a relief printing press which then transfers the image to a sheet of paper. Each copy has to be done individually with great care and attention and it is a process that takes time. There are variations which occur in the printing process and for this reason each print is therefore unique.

The inspiration for this piece of work was the beauty of the natural world that surrounds us in Norfolk. It was coming up to Xmas time and of course reindeers always remind us of winter and Xmas time.
