Hooked on linocuts

Throughout my life art, both practice and appreciation, has been the much needed counter-balance to navigating my way through life and its sometimes complicated demands. As choreographer Twyla Tharp has said 'Art is the only way to run away without leaving home' - a sentiment that resonates for me. My interest leans heavily towards the natural world - animals and the outdoors and towards people closest to me - as in portraiture. Whilst I have worked in other media I very much enjoy the transformative aspect of the printmaking process and have become completely hooked on linocuts in particular.

Professionally I have led a dual life working for many years in the NHS with children and families as a therapist and at the same time undertaking training and development in the field of art and printmaking. Most recently I gave trained at the Anglia Ruskin University on the Fine Art Degree course and then at the Curwen Print Study Centre.

I live in mid Norfolk which is a beautiful and inspiring part of the country and I hope that my prints convey something of the mystery and beauty of the natural world I am surrounded by here.

I now work from home where I have studio space.
