I wanted to create a longer version of necklace that would hang down over a plain shirt or dress to add more impact and contrast to an outfit. I watched many videos on crocheting leaves and although some of them were beautiful I wanted to design my own pattern. I created this design so that it could be made with a single thread, so the leaves and main chain are one thread, the rose is made again with only one thread. This makes the necklace less likely to have a loose end or start un-ravelling! I never did like dragging longer necklaces over my head, as usually by the time you select a necklace you have already done your hair!! I made this one so it can easily be slipped around the neck and fastened with an invisible button behind the rose.
