Original handmade designs, crochet necklaces, housewares, decorations, fabric face masks

My name is Samantha Wise, I live in beautiful Devon and have done for over 20 years. I have always loved to craft, learning how to sew and knit from my mother at a young age. I have always like to design my own clothes and accessories, I barely ever follow a pattern!! I learned to crochet relatively recently, two years ago. Soon after I learned the basics I felt the pull to design my own creations, starting with neck warmers, scarves and hats.

In early 2017 I decided to make a crocheted heart garland for decoration in a bedroom, and my daughter took one of the small heart shapes and turned it into a brooch. This gave me the idea of making crocheted jewellery. I made quite a few crochet necklaces and wore them all to show colleagues, friends and family. Everyone kept commenting on them and suggested I should try and sell them. The name Amy Paige is a combination of my two daughters' names, both teenagers are a great inspiration and support for my work, although neither have quite grasped the art of crochet... yet!

I love the design process of coming up with something new. I research other designers work to gain ideas and techniques but aim to never copy. Sometimes I come across very similar designs but I suppose we are all using the same materials and tools!!
I have had some of my best ideas from making gifts for friends and family. Thinking of something a particular person would like gets the creative juices running and I normally end up making a couple of variations for my shop!

At the moment I have more ideas than I have time to make but I love every minute spent with the hook in my hand - even though I spend an equal amount of time undoing as I do making, to get a design just right!
I hope others have as much pleasure from my designs as I have from making them.
