Full description
This necklace was inspired by the dew studded spiderwebs that are everywhere in the Autumn and particularly at the misty time of year running up to Halloween. The central section of this web was cast by hand from a black glass Victorian button, which may have been used as a fastening for the traditional black mourning clothing that was worn during the period. These buttons are quite rare and I was lucky to find a design reminiscent of a web. The mount was carved using a piercing saw and decorated with more strands of the web made from sterling silver wire. I have oxidized this pendant to bring out all of the intricate detail of the design. The shape is of a curved triangle, resembling a bindweed leaf , or perhaps a tooth and measures 1" or 25 mm in length. I have supplied this pendant with a 17 3/4" 450 mm Sterling Silver chain stamped 925.
This pendant is presented in a black gift box tied with a bow.
