Welcome to my Folksy shop in which you will find a variety of hand-stitched accessories for you and your home, many of which make lovely (and easy-to-post) gifts. I stitch in a variety of styles, combining traditional embroidery with other textile techniques such as felting, weaving, hand dyeing and silk painting. Vintage linens and fabrics re-stitched into unique gifts and accessories may be found at my second Folksy shop 'LynwoodcraftsRecycled' where you will also find vintage sewing supplies including vintage lace.
A pretty spring landscape, woven on a miniature scale, and finished with hand embroidery - presented as a brooch.
A miniature landscape has been woven from a mixture of fancy yarn and pale blue and green yarns. Very tiny sheep, a tree with catkins and tiny daffodils have been embroidered in cottons. A pretty and atmospheric scene.
The back of the brooch is neatened with felt and a brooch pin is securely stitched in place.
Height - 5.8 cm approx.
PLEASE NOTE: items from Lynwoodcrafts are intended for adults. This item is unsuitable for children - it contains a sharp pin and it contains small parts which may represent a choking hazard to children under 3 years of age.
Items of embroidered jewellery may not be colourfast - care should be taken to remove them from clothing before washing.
I love the colours and texture of the fancy yarn used in the foreground of this landscape - this was the starting point for this design. I have kept it simple using a hand - woven technique and simple embroidery.
