Full description
I created this delicate silver pendant to represent a samara, the papery leaf-like fruit of the hornbeam tree, which is often found on woodland walks in September. They grow in clusters and the three-lobed leafy structures act like wings, helping to disperse the seeds by spinning along in the wind. I have used a real samara to imprint the shape and texture onto sterling silver sheet, then used doming tools to give it a natural organic shape. The green Swarovski crystal is there to represent the central seed. It is attached by means of a sterling silver head pin which passes through a hole and forms the bail. The pendant hangs from a sterling silver trace chain, 18inches/45cm in length, fastened by a bolt and ring clasp stamped .925 for sterling. The pendant itself measures 1.5x0.8inches/3.5x2cm. It will be packaged in a smart gift box and sent to you by Royal Mail first class post.
