This is a beautiful medium weight sterling silver chainmaille bracelet made in the GSG (Great Southern Gathering) Weave pattern. This pattern creates a flat open weave bracelet which is very comfortable to wear. It is 13 mm wide

It is finished with a Sterling Silver 2 x 17 mm Rings Clasp which works by interlocking the slots in the rings and gives a secure finish to the bracelet. The rings are plain on one side and have a matt pattern on the other. It hason a pretty heart shaped tag.

It is 8 ins long which fits my 7 1/2 in wrist comfortably. The bracelet can be made shorter to any length. This bracelet weighs 38 grams.

It has a Birmingham Hallmark.

It is supplied in a box ready to give as a gift.

How do I determine my bracelet size?
Step 1: Measure your wrist just below the wrist bone, where one would normally wear a bracelet, with a flexible measuring tape or a strip of paper.
Step 2: If you are using a plain strip of paper, then measure that paper strip with a ruler to determine your wrist size.
Step 3: Add 1/4 inch to 1 inch (average is 1/2 inch) to your wrist size, depending on whether you would like a snug, comfort, or loose fit. This is the ideal bracelet length for you.

I enjoy making chainmaille bracelets. This pattern makes a wide flat weave. The clasp is a rather special interlocking clasp which gives a secure finish to the bracelet. The weave is GSG, named for the Great Southern Gathering where the weave was perfected. GSG is a Half Persian 3 Sheet 6 in 1 chain, turned sideways, two columns wide strip. I find it fascinating that a get together in the US developed this weave.
