We lived in the English Lake District for a couple of years and happened to be there in the Winter of 2010 when the snow arrived in early November and stayed well into the New Year.
We would wander down and sit on the edge of the jetty at the 'Hill of Oaks', looking North towards the Far Sawrey ferry and watch the setting sun turn the fells into a soft pink wonderland.

Winter Sunset on Lake Windermere' - Original, Limited Edition Hand Pulled Linocut Reduction Print. Printed in 6 colours and pulled on hand press. Signed, numbered and titled in pencil by the artist.

Making art through the medium of lino is one where surprises are a daily occurrence.
The reduction method entails the lino plate being slowly worked away after each colour is printed. The first press is with the lightest colour, the final pressing is the darkest colour. Once the final colour is printed the plate is destroyed.
Every time an image is hand pressed the anticipation of the reveal when pulling back the paper can make for some wonderful, unique images. The weight of the press, amount of ink and paper used means every single print is different, such a refreshing change in this digital age.

A certificate of authenticity will be supplied with the print.
