This greeting card is of Martha Reeves performing at the Brudenell Social Club in Leeds. I was there at the gig and from where I stood I had a great view of both the stage and the crowd, and the colours and lighting gave a very atmospheric setting so I thought I’d do a print of it.
This original image was a screenprint, done by myself, Leeds based illustrator Simon Lewis, in 2016.
It has 5 colours, each layer colour comes from a detailed drawing with added brushstroke
The card has been digitally printed onto a textured 300gsm matt white card.
It's DL sized - 21cm x 9.9cm when folded.
Comes with a white envelope
The card is blank inside
Giclee prints and original screenprints of this image are also available
I enjoy drawing buildings and streetscenes, these end up being ones I walk past often enough in Leeds that I end up appreciating certain qualities about them.
