This is a one-off, original piece of art. It is not a print.

Every day in May (2014) I hand stitched a new entry to this napkin, which I bought in a charity shop. Each entry has some relevance for that particular day.

The letters and pictures have been cut from old books (that had already been destroyed, I never cut up books which could otherwise be read) and fast food leaflets which came through my door.

The actual napkin measures 35cms x 35cms (approx), and comes unframed (although, I would recommend you frame it). I have sewn it onto an old wallpaper sample. The size of this paper is 43cms x 43cms (approx). It is bigger than is needed, as I wanted to give your framer something to play with.

It took a zillion hours to make, and I enjoyed every minute.

I have made 3 more napkins, one for June (exhibited at The Mall Galleries in London), October, and November 2014.

The price includes 'signed for' delivery, within the UK.

The overseas postage price, shown below, is for Royal Mail 'International Tracked and Signed'.

Please note, if you live outside the EU you may be responsible for paying import duties or taxes, in accordance with your country's customs laws.

All of my work is individually numbered, this piece is 551.

I feel a massive urge not to add to the 'stuff' that is already in the world. I feel obliged to use the materials that are already here. I do not print out new things, I use things that other people have printed and then discarded.

It is extremely eco-friendly, all of the materials used (even the thread) were destined for the bin. I get a kick out of that.

Each day I sewed something significant (to me) onto my napkin. Here are some examples:

Bald - the death of Bob Hoskins (his words, not mine)
Class - the death of John Westergaad
Thrive - the death of Maya Angelou
Puppets - Soma Mining Disaster
Lavvy Paper - a nod to Stanley Spencer, who used to draw on it during the wartime paper shortage.

A detailed explanation of each entry can be found here:
