I read somewhere that timber that is resawn to an eighth of an inch thickness is inherantly stable, so I tried some re-sawing and gluing to make the lid and yes 5 years later it is still very happy after being in our centraly heated house. The hand cut comb joints of the main pine frame look great and I love the wood grains and contrasting colours, with hardwood keys. I hope it can find a new owner who will appreaciate the enjoyment I had making it and care for it for many years to come.
