This box came from an interest in using slotted keys to reinforce mitre joints and there is a repeated theme in the lid and the base surround, but mirrored iin Mahogany and beech (light and dark). The dark material in the base and on the lift out tray is a synthetic felt stuck oto a piece of card. Hand cut comb joints form the main Pine box, with a lovely grain. A quirky little jewellery box. It has been finished in Melamine lacquer made by Chestnut products,which is safe for toys, then over it a light bees wax coat, to add a lustre.

Full description
150mm x80mm x 125mm high. 320 grams. A lid with a veneer pattern cut from some blocks of wood glued together, then "book cut" into a matching veneer (note it is not mirror symmetrical, but repeated adjacent, which makes it unusual). This box started by gluing the veneer onto a piece of ply, the lid then the box and then the lift out tray / insert were constructed to suit the lid.
