Full description

Signed, stamped, hand titled, limited edition, mounted, Giclee print of original illustration by Mark McPhelim.

Limited /495

Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum is one of Glasgow's most iconic and popular venues displaying no less than 8,000 objects within 22 themed galleries.

Completed in 1901 from a design by John W Simpson and E J Milner Allen, building funds were initially sourced from the profits of the famous International Exhibition of 1888. This beautiful ‘A' listed building is now one of the UK’s most popular free visitor attractions.

Using a section of the exterior sandstone brickwork as a base, I've produced numerous layers of pencil outlines to create an irregular, loose representation of the Spanish Baroque style facade including it's main entrance onto Argyle Street. Grey and red key lines compliment the distinctive red hue of the century old Locharbriggs stone. The result is retro antique with modern edge!

Who knows, within my illustration you may just find one or two objects which grace or have graced the interior of this iconic building!

A truly iconic landmark of Glasgow.
