I wanted to add some masculine pieces to my upcycled bookmarks series and found this silk tie in my stash. It was meant to be.

No more dog ears! No more vandalised book pages! The perfect gift for any book lover!
This masculine bookmark is made of a silk tie and features an impressive rhombus pattern in dark blue, beige, burnt orange and black at the front, while the back consists of soft upholstery fabric in plain black. Top-stitching was done in a matching shade of khaki.
Due to materials used the bookmark is very tactile and its rather dark colours mean it is very forgiving should it get a little stained.
At the top a "handmade" label was sewn in and the bottom of the bookmark features a piece of colour matching orange ribbon for extra length.
The hidden inside of the bookmark was made of various different materials to create sturdiness, and the bookmark doesn`t feel too rigid or too soft, according to my "test handler" .
Hand wash in soapy water is recommended.
