This beautiful bunting is reversible, so both sides have something lovely to look at and both sides have a unique pattern, designed by me.
I begin each series of bunting by designing a new Lino print. This bunting in particular I wanted to feel like a spring and summer day. There are roses, daises, a flowery ditsy pattern and tiny leaves. So pretty and very delicate looking. It has a feel of vintage and a touch of scandi that my pieces tend to lean towards.
I print onto 100% cotton fabric, which has an off white almost pale cream colour. I used a dark blue, a gorgeous deep rose, green and a dark purple which verges on navy. Ink used is an oil based Linseed ink.
The reverse side has a machine sewn pattern in complimentary colours in a combination of flower stitches. So very delicate and beautiful...I can't decide which side is my favourite! Stitched onto a 100% cotton canvas type fabric to give the bunting stability and even though it will flap in the wind it won't want to fly away!
The binding that goes along the top is in the same 100% cotton as the printed side and has the pretty leaf pattern in rose that is stitched on the back of the bunting.
There are 12 triangles, 3 of each design.
Each triangle measures 16 cm wide x 22 cm. There is 5 cm separating each triangle and the whole bunting including ties measures 4 metres 40 centimetres, so plenty to stretch across a room or garden, hang from a table or headboard. The ties measure 92 cm each.
