This painting is my take on a photo of a building detail I took. This floral design is part of larger architectural detail on that particular building. The photo I took is quite close up which gives it an abstract look which I try to get across not only in this painting but most of the other paintings I have done. The type of painting I try to create adopts a number of styles including abstract, contemporary and realism. My aim is to take images of real architectural structures but to try and portray them in an abstract, contemporary way.

Artist Statement:

I work and live in Glasgow, Scotland. I enjoy painting from images of architecture close up in and around my home city.
