The Bageecha scarf is inspired by aerial circus and features figures on aerial hoop and trapeze in a repeat pattern. This print was developed solely for block printing, a process which has not changed in hundreds of years. The scarf also features a bold striped border to the short edges.
The process of block printing starts with carving the design into the blocks which are then used to stamp the repeat pattern across the fabric. A separate block needs to be hand carved for each colour in the design. The colours of this print are inspired by the array of colourful traditional prints that can be found on markets around India and especially by my favourite Pink City Bazaar in Jaipur, India.
The scarf is lightweight and is the perfect accessory for all weathers adding a splash of colour to any outfit.
Due to the handmade process variation in the colour and print work should be expected.
